Let me first say something I don’t say enough – I love Christ Fellowship! It is a joy to be your pastor. I am humbled by the work God continues to do in our midst. Five years ago, this church did not exist. By God’s grace, we are now a growing, healthy, and diverse body of believers.
And yet – while preparing for the past two sermons in Hebrews, I have been greatly convicted and challenged as a pastor. As a church, are we still on the bottle or ready for solid food? What is my role as a shepherd to help us mature?
This post is meant as a follow-up to both sermons. If you missed one (or both), you can catch up at the links below:
Here are the questions again for all of us to consider together:
- Are you growing in your walk with Christ?
- Is your spiritual gift being used in our church?
- Are you engaged in the work of making disciples?
As you consider these questions, remember that you are not alone. We are in this together. We are better together.

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3 Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. 5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” – John 15:1-5
