Christ Fellowship is not just an event we attend. It is a group of people we love… a group of people who love worshiping together and being together. We have a genuine affection for one another. We look forward to Sundays as “family time”.
That’s why this decision was so incredibly difficult. Based on the recommendations of local, state, and federal authorities, we have decided to suspend public worship on March 22 and March 29. In the meantime, we will provide video streaming in English and Spanish via Facebook Live. The stream will include announcements, prayer, a sermon, and a discussion about how to best serve our community during this season.
We know this is a disappointing and temporary replacement for gathered worship. And yet, we believe God can and will use this time to grow His church. When King David found himself in the wilderness, far from the temple, he wrote these words:
O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you;
my soul thirsts for you;
my flesh faints for you,
as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary,
beholding your power and glory.
Because your steadfast love is better than life,
my lips will praise you.
So I will bless you as long as I live;
in your name I will lift up my hands. (Psalm 63)
When this is over, I believe we will all long for gathered worship again in a deeper way. We will all appreciate the means of grace a little more. We will be stronger having endured it. Rejoice Christ Fellowship, for “the testing of your faith produces steadfastness.”
