Salmo 119:1-8 "Dichoso por la Palabra" (Ultimos 5 minutos)

What’s Next?

“Pastor, church just isn’t the same… when will it be normal again?” I don’t know. The Church is in a wilderness of sorts. But remember – the wilderness is not a curse. It is a blessing. The promises of God don’t change. They are tried and true (Ps. 119:140). Without faith in God’s Word, we will misdiagnose the problem and prescribe the wrong solutions. The world hates the wilderness, but Christians have an enduring perspective on seasons of testing. Consider […]

Coronavirus Survey Results

Dear Christ Fellowship, Thank you for taking the time to fill out the coronavirus survey. We received more than 50 responses! The officers have considered this valuable information carefully and prayerfully. This is what we heard: Only a few people in our church have been directly impacted by the virus, health-wise. Economically, there are several immediate and developing needs. More than 20 people have lost some, most, or all of their income! Most of you are concerned about others in […]

A Spanish service will continue to be offered online only at 11:30am. • Individuals who are sick or at high risk of infection should continue worshiping at home via the live stream. Dear CFC family, Today (May 24) is Jaime’s birthday! I am so grateful for Jaime and his family. Take a moment today and praise God with me for Jaime’s work. Dear CFC family, The Palmer Home Cookout was so much fun! The weather was perfect and the attendance was great. I had too much fun to take many pictures (see below). The Christ Fellowship website has a fresh look. Check it out and let us know what you think, especially if you have any suggestions for content! April was the strongest month of attendance we have had as a church. We averaged 80 people in worship each week! More importantly, when I look out at the crowd I see family. Why is Church Boring Us?

If you buy a ticket to a ball game, a concert, or a movie, then you expect a seat in a crowd of strangers. You’re not there for the people. You are there for the event like everyone else. You might occasionally run into a friend, but most of the people around you will be nameless ticket holders. If you buy season tickets to the Grizzlies, then you might start recognizing a few faces. You may even learn a name…

Church Membership as Adoption

Our church has recently changed our language concerning church membership. We are now using adoption language to describe the process of becoming a member. This change was born out of a nagging question: How do we convince people that church membership is worth it? One of our new members this past Sunday was a foster child who aged out of the system. She was never adopted… until now! We promised to receive her in love and faithfulness as an adopted…

Follow Me

“Follow Me.” This was the invitation of Jesus to the disciples. Great crowds would eventually follow Jesus, as they do today. But for many of those followers, the journey ended at the cross. They abandoned him… Many Southerners can recall a time when their faith was important to them. They may throw up an occasional prayer. Their social media profiles identify them as Christian. But there is no evidence of dependence on Christ. There are no signs of daily faith…

No More Tears

Christmas is a big season for the church: joyful songs, bright colors, parties with cookies and hot cocoa. We are supposed to focus on positive things: love, joy, peace. We want people to be excited about the birth of Jesus! But the holidays are also a very difficult time for a lot of people. They will never miss departed loved ones more than they do at Christmas. Those dealing with sadness or pain often feel it more acutely when everyone…
