Salmo 119:1-8 "Dichoso por la Palabra" (Ultimos 5 minutos)

What’s Next?

“Pastor, church just isn’t the same… when will it be normal again?” I don’t know. The Church is in a wilderness of sorts. But remember – the wilderness is not a curse. It is a blessing. The promises of God don’t change. They are tried and true (Ps. 119:140). Without faith in God’s Word, we will misdiagnose the problem and prescribe the wrong solutions. The world hates the wilderness, but Christians have an enduring perspective on seasons of testing. Consider […]

Coronavirus Survey Results

Dear Christ Fellowship, Thank you for taking the time to fill out the coronavirus survey. We received more than 50 responses! The officers have considered this valuable information carefully and prayerfully. This is what we heard: Only a few people in our church have been directly impacted by the virus, health-wise. Economically, there are several immediate and developing needs. More than 20 people have lost some, most, or all of their income! Most of you are concerned about others in […]

Coronavirus Response

Updated June 20, 2020 After much prayer and discussion, the officers of Christ Fellowship (elders and deacons) have decided to resume public worship, with several precautions: • For now, we will offer one public worship service at 10:30am in English only. A Spanish service will continue to be offered online only at 11:30am. • Individuals who are sick or at high risk of infection should continue worshiping at home via the live stream. Please read the CDC guidelines regarding this. […]

You can use WordPress’s content editor to publish content with text, photos, galleries, video, lists, links and styled text. You can insert a gallery into your article that extends outward. Blockquote Example The content area is narrow for optimal readability (comfortable number of characters per line). Certain elements such as blockquotes and images can extend beyond the content area to create a dramatic effect. This demonstrates the effect. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, […]

Unity, Not Uniformity

A nation so divided needs a church that is united. But unity is not the same thing as uniformity… Uniformity says, “You are welcome if you are like me.” Unity says, “You are welcome here. Period.” Uniformity says, “I will love the people I understand.” Unity says, “I will try to understand the ones I love.” Uniformity says, “Adopt my values and we can be friends.” Unity says, “I’m adopting you into my family.” Pushing for uniformity only creates more…

Understanding the Response to Injustice

I went to bed last night with the killing of Terence Crutcher playing over and over in my mind. Over the next few days, we will hear and read about two narratives. One narrative was instantly available – outrage and pain expressed by minorities who feel targeted. The other narrative will take a few days to develop. People will look for a way to justify the shooting or criminalize Mr. Crutcher in an attempt to portray this as an isolated…

I’m Being Shunned

My mom, my sister, my grandmother, aunts, uncles, cousins – people that were once my world – have been actively shunning me for most of my life. Until the age of 15, I was a committed Jehovah’s Witness. I made the decision to disassociate myself and for the past 21 years I have experienced radical ostracism from family and friends. I want to tell you about the pain this shunning has caused. Until this past weekend, I had not spoken…

2016 Annual Report

Over and over in the Bible, we see the people of God reflecting back on His faithfulness to them. Monuments were raised. People gathered to worship, pray, and remember. It is in that spirit that we hope to provide a yearly report, every summer, to celebrate the Lord’s work in our midst. Click Here to View the 2016 Annual Report The report is lengthy, but we encourage you to take the time to read it.

one love.

We encourage you to plan on regular attendance next month and invite friends/family! Below is the schedule for August: August 7 – One in our love for the GOSPEL August 14 – One in our love for WORSHIP August 21 – One in our love for the CHURCH August 28 – One…

Rejection

Have you ever felt rejected? I have. This is what it feels like: It feels like a kick in the heart. It hurts because another person will only accept me if I become what they want me to be. Otherwise, they don’t want me. And in pride, they consider themselves better because of it… It has taken me a long time to even define that pain. I don’t want to keep it to myself, because I imagine there are a lot of…

Covenant

The Bible was written to describe our relationship with God. There are many themes in that story. One of the greatest themes in the Bible is “Covenant”. God’s saving relationship with His people is a magnificent bridge spanning back across history–one great Covenant promise of grace supported by several stories of promise along the way. Each event adds something to the big picture. If you want to learn more about God’s promises and how they matter in your life, join us…

You are Valuable

I’m sitting here looking at a picture of my two sons. I remember the day they were each born. I remember feeling a love I had never felt. I remember sensing their incredible value. But I was reminded today while reading The Voice of the Heart by Chip Dodd, that newborn babies haven’t done anything to earn that value. Think about it – babies are completely dependent on us. They produce nothing – except a mess! And yet, we know they…

doubt

“Have mercy on those who doubt.” – Jude 22 Everyone I know has had doubts about their faith. Many still do – even me, the pastor. None of our doubting surprises God. He tells us to go easy on one another when we have questions. In that spirit, we are beginning a new series on Easter Sunday. I’m giving you the full schedule for the eight week series, because I want you to consider this the perfect time to invite…

February at Christ Fellowship

Sundays in February, join us for a new series on the second greatest commandment and the answer to the question, “Who is My Neighbor?” We will spend all four Sundays looking in depth at the parable of the Good Samaritan. We are also going to focus our attention on outreach efforts, highlighting a different opportunity each Sunday. We are asking everyone to prayerfully consider regular worship attendance during this important month! February 7 – “The Compassionate Neighbor” February 14 –…

Do you remember the “Wish Book”?

It was that special mail order catalog published by Sears for the Christmas season. They used to send it out months in advance because it would take weeks to receive anything you ordered. In the digital age, the paper book has been replaced with an online version, where you can flip through “virtual pages” and order something that will arrive in days, not weeks. We can now get most of what we want or need in two days or less.…
