Salmo 119:1-8 "Dichoso por la Palabra" (Ultimos 5 minutos)

What’s Next?

“Pastor, church just isn’t the same… when will it be normal again?” I don’t know. The Church is in a wilderness of sorts. But remember – the wilderness is not a curse. It is a blessing. The promises of God don’t change. They are tried and true (Ps. 119:140). Without faith in God’s Word, we will misdiagnose the problem and prescribe the wrong solutions. The world hates the wilderness, but Christians have an enduring perspective on seasons of testing. Consider […]

Coronavirus Survey Results

Dear Christ Fellowship, Thank you for taking the time to fill out the coronavirus survey. We received more than 50 responses! The officers have considered this valuable information carefully and prayerfully. This is what we heard: Only a few people in our church have been directly impacted by the virus, health-wise. Economically, there are several immediate and developing needs. More than 20 people have lost some, most, or all of their income! Most of you are concerned about others in […]

Coronavirus Response

Updated June 20, 2020 After much prayer and discussion, the officers of Christ Fellowship (elders and deacons) have decided to resume public worship, with several precautions: • For now, we will offer one public worship service at 10:30am in English only. A Spanish service will continue to be offered online only at 11:30am. • Individuals who are sick or at high risk of infection should continue worshiping at home via the live stream. Please read the CDC guidelines regarding this. […]

You can use WordPress’s content editor to publish content with text, photos, galleries, video, lists, links and styled text. You can insert a gallery into your article that extends outward. Blockquote Example The content area is narrow for optimal readability (comfortable number of characters per line). Certain elements such as blockquotes and images can extend beyond the content area to create a dramatic effect. This demonstrates the effect. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, […]

Confident.

Are you a confident person? Most of us can fake it. We will look you in the eyes, shake your hand, smile, and act like we have life figured out. But inside, we are not as sure of ourselves as we seem to be. The Bible says that Christians have bold access to God (Eph. 3:12). We can approach Him with confidence by faith in Jesus. What is confidence? Confidence is trust that we won’t be destroyed when we walk…

Bad Theology

Theology matters. What we believe about God matters. The longer I pastor, the more convinced I am that our theology has the power to deeply wound and confuse people if we get it wrong. I am tired of meeting people who have been hurt by bad theology. I am tired of meeting people who have given up on church because someone taught them lies. Bad theology can be more destructive than drug addiction in a person’s life. For Example – What…

Church Isn’t Worth Your Time

If you think the church is an event to attend on a Sunday, then it isn’t worth your time. If you think the church is a building where people go to do religious activity, then it isn’t worth your time. If you think the church is a haven for good people with stable lives, then it isn’t worth your time. If you think the church is a social club for people who look, act, and think the same, then it…

They Will Know Us By Our ________?

Will they know us by our cool logo? Will they know us by our hip music? Will they know us by our relevant teaching? Will they know us by our updated website? Will they know us by the numbers we attract? Will they know us by the programs we offer? Jesus said, “By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:35) It is easy for churches (and pastors) to…

Order a T-Shirt

T-shirts are a great way to let our community know about Christ Fellowship. If you would like to order one, fill out the form below. Cost will depend on the number of orders we receive, but will likely be $10-$15 each.

One God. One Church. One Horn Lake.

What is God’s plan for His church? How can the church remain strong and even grow in the midst of a culture that seems to be increasingly resistant and even hostile to the message of the Gospel? What do we believe and why does it matter? On Sunday, August 30, we will begin a sermon series in Ephesians to answer these questions. Pray that we will learn how to BE the church. Pray for new people to come and experience…

Why Join a Fellowship Group?

Most of us are busy. We have very little time to just “be”. We spend our free time in front of screens and devices, choosing to interact with people we will never really know. Most churches offer as many programs as possible, filling the week with volunteer opportunities and ministries. Very often, people are missed in the shuffle and never feel “plugged in”. Others will take every opportunity and eventually burn out, feeling less connected than they did before. In…

SEX (Parental Guidance)

Sunday morning, we will finish our series on healthy relationships with a look at the Bible’s perspective on THE topic of our times: Sex. Due to the nature of the topic, we will have children’s ministry and nursery available during the sermon. We encourage you to extend an invitation to anyone who might be interested in hearing more about God’s view of sexual relationships.

Inviting Suburban People to Church

Inviting Suburban People to Church A few years ago, pastor and author Tim Keller wrote a guide for evangelism through “networking”. He makes the argument that traditional methods of evangelism (programmatic, friendship) don’t seem to work in modern, secular communities. People will not listen to the gospel from strangers who invade their personal space. But skeptics and other nonbelievers will engage with the gospel in real life through the means of preaching, small groups, and casual conversation. This means we…

Why Join a Church?

I wanted to share this wonderfully written blog post by my friend Ricky Jones. God used Ricky to connect me to the church and help me understand the Gospel. I hope you will find his words helpful in explaining why church membership is such a big deal! You can find the original post here. Is Church Membership Really Required? February 27, 2014 | by: Ricky Jones This month we will be inducting new members into the most honored body the…
